The pop star’s fans quickly chimed in, with many suggesting that the former president is stepping into his “litigation phase.”
Donald Trump may not have Taylor Swift backing him in the 2024 election, but he’s still leveraging her star power to elevate his campaign’s visibility.
On Thursday (Sept. 12)—just two days after the 34-year-old pop star publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election—the Republican candidate’s campaign announced a new line of “Trump Era” T-shirts. The shirts draw heavy inspiration from the graphic design of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour merchandise, featuring a grid of images of the twice-impeached president in colors and patterns strikingly similar to those of Swift’s “Karma” tour designs. Priced at $36, the shirts are marketed with a tweet from Trump’s campaign urging, “Calling all Swifties for Trump—get your Trump Era shirt today.

Trump isn’t the only candidate in the 2024 election leveraging Taylor Swift’s fame. The Harris-Walz campaign has also jumped on the trend, recently launching Eras-inspired friendship bracelets on their website. Unlike Trump, however, the Harris-Walz team actually has Swift’s backing. On September 10, the 14-time Grammy winner took to Instagram to endorse Kamala Harris, calling her a “steady-handed, gifted leader” who champions the rights and causes Swift supports.
Swift also cited Trump’s use of AI-generated images that falsely depicted her as a MAGA supporter—another attempt to exploit her image—as a key reason for her endorsement. In response, Trump remarked, “I was never a Taylor Swift fan; it was just a matter of time. She’s a very liberal person, and she seems to always support Democrats. She’ll probably face repercussions for it in the marketplace.”
