The reimagined Road House promises an action-packed adventure with Gyllenhaal stepping into the shoes of a former UFC fighter named Elwood Dalton. According to the official synopsis, Dalton takes on a seemingly straightforward job as a bouncer at a rowdy roadhouse in the Florida Keys. However, paradise soon takes a turn for the thrilling as he uncovers hidden secrets lurking beneath the tropical veneer.

Fans eager for a sneak peek weren’t disappointed. Prime Video’s 2024 sizzle reel offered two tantalizing glimpses of Gyllenhaal in character. The first clip sent hearts racing as the actor, sporting an impressive physique, stood shirtless in a boxing ring. The following scene upped the adrenaline, showcasing Dalton’s fighting prowess as he effortlessly subdued three attackers, dodged punches with lightning speed, and dominated a street brawl.

Production for the film kicked off in the Dominican Republic back in 2022. In March, the Southpaw star took things a step further by filming a scene directly at a UFC event in Las Vegas. A clip from the shoot went viral, capturing Gyllenhaal’s character entering the T-Mobile Arena for a weigh-in, complete with crowd-hyping antics and a muscle-flexing reveal as he stepped onto the scale. The scene even featured a cameo from none other than UFC president Dana White, adding an extra layer of authenticity.

But the excitement didn’t stop there. MMA world champion Jay Hieron, playing Dalton’s rival Jack Harris, also joined the on-screen action.
