Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Viral Locker Room Image and Prepares for Super Bowl LVIII
Even Patrick Mahomes, the NFL superstar, isn’t immune to an unflattering camera shot. The 28-year-old quarterback responded to a viral image from The CW’s Inside the NFL, which captured the Kansas City Chiefs’ locker room celebrations following their AFC Championship victory. The image depicted a shirtless Mahomes delivering a motivational speech to his Chiefs teammates after securing their place in the forthcoming Super Bowl.
Mahomes humorously reacted to the image on X (previously known as Twitter), posting, “Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!?,” accompanied by three laughing emojis and the hashtag, #DadBodSzn. He further quoted his own post, adding, “Like I got kids!!!” and tagged the official accounts of the Chiefs, the NFL, and Inside the NFL.
The Inside the NFL’s X account responded to Mahomes, affirming him as “Elite in our book.” ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller humorously commented, “You and Jason Kelce doing more for dad bods than anyone in history,” referring to the Philadelphia Eagles star’s shirtless display at the Chiefs-Bills game. Miller praised both Kelce, 36, and Mahomes for “Doing the lord’s work.”

Mahomes and the Chiefs are set to defend their NFL championship title at Super Bowl LVIII, scheduled for Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This will mark Mahomes’ fourth Super Bowl appearance with Kansas City in 2024, and he appears excited about the Las Vegas visit.
Following the Chiefs’ 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Mahomes celebrated the win on X with a GIF of Zach Galifianakis’s character from the movie The Hangover. The 2009 film features Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms embarking on a wild and raucous Las Vegas adventure for a bachelor party, leading to a chaotic search for their missing friend.

Mahomes was active on X after the Chiefs’ win in Baltimore, sharing a reporter’s photo of the team’s defensive line’s shirts in the locker room and a post by his teammate, linebacker Drue Tranquill. Tranquill, 28, posted on X after the win, “Big Red, T Swift, & the boys just tore your parlay up again,” referring to tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift and head coach Andy Reid as “Big Red.”
The Chiefs are now heading to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year, following their Vince Lombardi Trophy win last year.
