Lewiston Strong: Community Rallies After Mass Shooting

The Lewiston community is slowly starting to heal after last week’s horrific mass shooting, which claimed the lives of 18 innocent people and wounded many others.

In a show of support, the Bonny Eagle High School community has painted “Lewiston Strong” on the school’s football field. They are also holding a fundraiser for the family of Joshua Seal, a 2006 Bonny Eagle graduate who was killed in the shooting. The fundraiser will take place at Tuesday night’s football game.

The Windham High School community has also shown their support by painting “Lewiston” on their football field.

Lewiston Strong signs have also been spotted at other events, including the Patriots game in Miami on Sunday and a high school football game in New Hampshire over the weekend.

On Tuesday night, the Bates College Bobcats field hockey team will play Bowdoin in a NESCAC playoff game. Both teams will wear Lewiston Strong T-shirts during warm-ups, with proceeds from the game benefiting the Maine Community Foundation.
