T-Shirts, Sweatshirts & Hoodies

Three cuts, three weights, one decision. Almost every design we make appears somewhere in this collection, which means the question is rarely which artwork you want — it is which of these three you will actually reach for.

This is the broadest part of Apparel, and the safest place to start if you are buying from us for the first time.

Three Weights, One Wardrobe

The T-shirt. Single-layer knit, usually a light jersey fabric. It is the only one of the three that works on its own in real heat, and the only one that disappears cleanly under something else. If you want a design you can wear nine months a year, buy the tee.

The sweatshirt. Same shape, more weight, brushed inside. It covers the gap most people dress badly for — the weeks too cool for a tee and too mild for a coat. A crew-neck sweatshirt also keeps a front print completely flat and unbroken, which is why large artwork often looks best here.

The hoodie. The heaviest of the three, and the only one with a built-in second layer. A hoodie earns its place outdoors and in cold rooms, but the hood and pocket break up the print area — so it suits chest-height artwork better than full-front designs.

Where the Print Sits

All three carry panel prints: artwork applied to the front, the back, or both, with the rest of the garment left as solid colour. That is different from All Over Print, where the design runs across seams and sleeves.

Panel printing has one practical advantage that matters more than it sounds. Because the body of the garment stays plain, the piece still works when it is half-covered — under an open jacket, behind a bag strap, sitting down at a table. All-over pieces need to be seen whole to make sense. These do not.

Layering These Three

The three are designed to stack, and stacking is the cheapest way to get more wear out of one design.

A tee under an open sweatshirt shows a strip of print and reads relaxed. The same tee under a zipped hoodie hides it entirely and reads plain. A hoodie under an overshirt turns the hood into the only visible element. Traditional layered clothing logic applies: the lightest piece goes closest to the skin, and each layer above should be roomier than the one below.

Which is why buying a hoodie in the same size as your tee usually works, and buying it a size down usually does not.

Getting the Size Right

These three do not size identically even within this collection. A hoodie carries noticeably more room through the body and shoulders than a tee in the same letter size, because it has to fit over something.

So measure rather than assume. Take a piece you already own in that same style, lay it flat, measure across the chest and down from the shoulder seam, and match those two numbers against our size chart. Comparing a hoodie to a tee you own will give you the wrong answer.

Making Them Last

Cold wash, inside out, hang dry. The dryer is what kills a panel print — heat plus tumbling is exactly the combination that cracks ink. Hoodies in particular hold moisture in the pocket and hood long after the body is dry, so give them longer on the line rather than reaching for the machine.

Do not iron the print. If a garment needs pressing, work around the panel or press from the inside.
